Every girl has her obsessions. For most it’s shoes and handbags. For me, it’s jackets. I looooooooove jackets. One third of my hanging closet are jackets, J-Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, DKNY Jeans, Juicy Couture, and many many more.

They’re a great accent piece on their own. Especially if they carry their own accents of buttons or zippers. This way accessories aren’t necessary, and less is more. On my more simple jackets I have added accessories, such as a thin belt around the waist.

I’m a big believer in keeping it simple overall, but do realize that there needs to be a focus piece. This could be something as small as a pair of earrings to a rockin’ pair of high heels to a jacket of shiny zippers and extra fabric.

Know what the accent is, the “definitely going to get complements” piece, and frame it with similar, simpler versions, to let it stand out and draw attention.
